PURPOSE & EXPECTATIONS
This position is responsible for inventory levels and accuracy, coordination with production to support daily machine and assembly scheduling, warehousing, shipping, and purchasing. The Shipping Associate will accomplish this by consistent application of company Policies, Procedures, & Guidelines (PP&G;), establishing and communicating manufacturing related goals and objectives, establishing expense controls (budgets), assisting in the selection of key personnel, and facilitate the development of manufacturing systems to achieve these ends. The Shipping Associate is expected to be a key player in coordinating a cross-functional effort to meet customer expectations utilizing our systems to control our product during storage and movement to the production floor or shipment to our customers. Creating an environment for a safe and stable work force is essential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Assist in the disposition of non-conforming purchased product.
2. Facilitate the implementation of corrective action for non-conforming purchased product.
3. Assist Materials Manager in managing the warehouse, and shipping functions & associated personnel.
4. Supervise movement of materials to the production floor or shipping dock.
5. Assist in the Supervision of all cycle counting activities.
6. Provide direction and review performance of direct reports.
7. Have controls in place to assure that inventories are accurate and that they are maintained at the proper levels as dictated by the corporate and divisional priorities.
8. Maintain emphasis on reduction of obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
9. Initiate and maintain thoughtful, constructive and consistent communication with direct reports.
Required Experience
Prior experience with automotive customer websites, Scheduling trucks from trucking line, UPS/Fed Ex and customs and export paperwork required.
